How to Get Started

Key Features

Plant Database

The Plant Database is your starting point when using this template. It offers three views: Currently Owned, Wishlist, and All. Switch between these views to see and add plants based on their ownership status. The Currently Owned view displays cover pictures, an Add Observation button, special care information, and a Recent Action property, giving you a quick overview of your plant care progress.

Click on the cards to record and check essential plant care details like humidity, light, temperature, and soil requirements.

Notably, the Add Observation button allows you to log your observations and care actions for each plant, while the Recent Action property summarizes the last three care actions, making it easy to track each plant's recent activities and adjust care as needed.

Observation Notes

Track each plant's health by recording observation time, care actions, and plant status. Add photos for better visual tracking and to capture the joy of caring for your plants.

Care Schedule

Set up reminders for watering, fertilizing, or treating by clicking the "Set a Reminder" button on the main page. Be sure to configure the Remind option after setting the date and time. While Notion allows you to set a database template to repeat at a certain frequency, the reminder option in the database template can't be automatically configured.

As a plant enthusiast with over a decade of experience, I don't recommend a fixed watering or care schedule. Instead, I suggest checking the soil by:

• Observing the color of its surface • Feeling the pot's weight • Inserting your finger into the soil to determine moisture levels

Each plant has different water needs. You can use the Green Thumb Guide—which we'll discuss below—to collect and reference this care knowledge.
